CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS – THEY DO A WORLD OF GOOD!

Each summer, hundreds of children, youth and adults participate in the camps and retreats offered through the Detroit Annual Conference.  A variety of programs are offered at our conference owned sites: Judson Collins Camp, Myers Lake Campground, Camp Kinawind and Lake Huron Retreat Center. 

Scholarship assistance is available to any camper in financial need.  The desired formula is 1/3 support through the local church, 1/3 support through the family and 1/3 support through the scholarship program.  No one is ever denied a camp experience because of financial need.  The folks in the conference camping office work very hard to distribute funds in such a way to allow as many campers as possible to benefit from financial assistance. 

Through Ministry Jubilee, individuals have the chance to support this scholarship program.  MJ 1158 assures the opportunity for all those who desire a summer camp experience to have one.   New friendships, faith growth opportunities, outdoor education and recreation and learned skills are all part of a summer camp experience. Please note that Ministry Jubilee 1186 provides scholarships for children and youth to attend Bay Shore Camp.
