MJ 1355 When it comes right down to it family camping ministries is a vital part of our partnership with local United Methodist Churches. Often it is what happens beyond the pew on Sunday mornings that builds relationships, and promotes a church to be the healthy, holy branch of the tree of life we strive to be. Your support of family camping ministries through ministry jubilee assists in the creation of new and innovative programs that invite entire families and churches to fellowship together at Myers Lake Campground and Judson Collins Center in Christ-centered family fun. When a recent camper was asked how camping at Myers Lake with his church impacted his faith walk, the camper replied; “It’s been huge for us… Patty & I had just joined church back when the boys were born and we weren’t very active in church. One of the first things that got us really into the group and into the fellowship was here at Myers Lake. When we came out, in fact people will still laugh about it, because we came out and we just showed up, nobody knew us; we didn’t know anybody else, we just showed up and joined in and we’ve gone from there. Basically, Myers Lake was instrumental …in getting us into this church and the church family.” -Steve Banner, Fenton UMC Why not make plans now to join us for a weekend with your church family. Perhaps spending a week to reconnect with your own family in a safe, Christ centered community will touch each member of your family in a new and vibrant way this summer!
